Elizabeth Loftus appears as an expert before court and questions the credibility of eyewitnesses. She has been researching the distortion of human memories since the 1970s and counts as one of the most influential psychologists worldwide. Memory Wars tells of Loftus’ controversial positions and perspectives in some infamous trials – Rae Carruth, Rodney King, Harvey Weinstein and the controversy about repressed memories. Does the search for truth in the courtroom stand in the way of movements of emancipation and social struggles? Or is it their prerequisite? And what does ones personal agenda have to do with that?
